SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. -- Jefferson County Schools is proud to recognize two Jefferson High School seniors for being named National Merit Scholarship winners by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation®. Eli Dillow won a National Merit $2500 Scholarship, while Layla Parker received a college-sponsored Merit Scholarship award.
Eli was one of 2,500 students nationwide chosen from among 15,000 finalists to receive a $2500 scholarship award. These scholarships are awarded on a state-representational basis, with winners selected by a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors.
Layla opted for a college-sponsored merit scholarship from the University of Maine. Her award is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
The prestigious National Merit program honors outstanding achievements among top scholars nationwide. Congratulations to Eli and Layla on this outstanding accomplishment!
