JANUARY 31, 2024: We would like to provide an update on an external threat reported this morning. Working with our partners in law enforcement, Jefferson County Schools has learned that no credible threat existed to the communities of North Jefferson Elementary School, T.A. Lowery Elementary School, Wildwood Middle School, or Jefferson High School. Upon being detained, law enforcement determined that the suspect in question was training for the U.S. armed forces while wearing a weight belt and did not threaten any of our school communities. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Due to the anticipated winter weather forecast, all Jefferson County schools and offices will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024. Essential personnel should report. REMINDER: All Jefferson County Schools students will be dismissed two hours early this Thursday, December 21, 2023. Winter break begins on Friday and continues all next week. Students will return to class on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Have a safe and restful break.

We will be gathering all of the lost and found items over winter break to take to a charity, so please take a look at what your child usually wears in the fall and winter, and if you cannot find it, stop in to look in the school before December 21st!
