Dear JHS Family and Friends, It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that one our band students, Reese Brown, has lost her battle with cancer. Reese was an 11th grader and a member of the clarinet section. She always had a smile on her face and absolutely loved being a member of the Cougar Marching Band. Reese was a highly intelligent, giving, and kind person who we will all miss dearly. On behalf of all the JHS Staff, parents, students, family and community, I would like to offer our heartfelt condolences to Reese’s family. I know that many of our members will be devastated by this news, as am I. Please contact the school at 304-725-8491 if you need counseling service for your grief. I would also ask that we support each other during this time and check in on one another. Please know that it’s ok to ask for help if you are hurting. We all deal with loss differently. We will send everyone information regarding a service for Reese when the information becomes available. Until then, please take care of yourselves and know that people are here for you. Sincerely, JHS Administration
